let him eat cake

so i came into work today to find a giant piece of cake sitting on my desk. it has three little signs sticking out of i that said great job. since there are some many wonderful things i do well i was understandably perplexed as to by whom and for what reason i was being congratulated. i'm a sucka for the sweet stuff and pinched a couple pieces off before i went to actually get a fork from the break room. my boss comes in about 2 hours later and starts telling me about the cake. apparently she got it 2 days ago at a city council meeting and took a piece home but forgot it on her dashboard. she brought it in today and felt bad about wasting it and decided that giving it to me was a better alternative...she was right...i ate it. the center was actually pretty ok.
